Short and Sweet

A very quick update today - to present this short and sweet shrug I made for Caroline's birthday (which is today!) I delivered it this morning and it looks fabulous on her.

It's Glint from Kim Hargreaves Nectar collection. I've become a bit of a Hargreaves groupie lately, this is my 4th project from her books in the past 6 months. Her patterns are stylish, well designed and generally well written.

This one is knit in Rowan Summer Tweed. The pattern called for 5 skeins for the small size, but I only used 4. The body is knit on 5mm needles, the edging on 4.5mm.

The colour is richer than in this picture - for no reason that makes sense to me I want to say it's velevety!

Ummmm....that's it!

Niiiiice! It's great to see some pretties out of Summer Tweed--I love it, but it seems to be an acquired taste.

I have seen this lovely item and can vouch that, in reality, the colour was far richer and fuller than comes across in the photo.

It may sound weird, but I am always so impressed at knitted garments with collars - they're so cool!

I love that so simple, but effective

Very Chanel, my dear. I like it! If it were blue instead of green I'd be tempted to come and steal it. :-)

Heh, thanks Soo! I'll be spending the next 5 months (til Harrogate) stashbusting again I think!
I thought I'd already commented, but it appears I didn't - I love the shrug! It's gorgeous, looks perfect for both a summer evening (it's pouring down here, mind!), and winter for under a coat :) very sweet!

I wasn't inspired by the original either--but I thought is had potential. It's amazing what a few rows of a different color will do.

Yeah, that song is running through my brain over and over and over...

But it's even worse when Harry sings Itsy Bitsy Spider. It takes DAYS to get that one out of my head!

That's such a pretty little shrug! I love the color. For some reason, I've been going through a green phase lately, and I adore the green you have chosen.
